For our five-course Monthly Special, we start off right with the sashimi and appetizer platter. The highlights are the Kanpachi Negi Miso (amberjack marinated in miso and spring onion) oozing with umami flavour, and a whole crab claw – the shell pops off with a careful twist, revealing a satisfyingly sumptous bite.
Next, the highlight: Hokkaido Tarabagani Korokke (Hokkaido King Crab Croquette). Chunks of crab mixed into a rich creamy stew, baked into a crisp shell – absolutely satisfying. This dish is carefully prepared to avoid the scalding heat of typical Japanese croquettes, so don’t worry. Just bite in and let the warm, comforting flavours wash over you.
Rounding out the entrées is a classic: Misaki-style “gyuudon”! Unlike the typical beef bowl, here the rice is served on a hot plate, topped with grilled beef slices, melted cheese, and crunchy garlic slices. Enjoy this innovative twist on the well-loved comfort food with a hearty bowl of Asari Miso Jiru (Clam and Miso Soup).
